Haida Arctic light -workshop 31.1.-6.2.2022

Have you always wanted to experience beautiful arctic nature and develop your photography skills? If so, join us in Posio to experience arctic winter light and amazing wintertime nature of Finnish Lapland. At this time of the year the conditions are perfect to explore the authentic arctic. Schedule is flexible, and it will change as the weather forecast changes so we can find the best suitable conditions for each location. In addition to each day`s schedule there will be an editing session with photos taken and open discussion between participants. The host of the workshop is an awarded professional photographer Petri Puurunen (@petripuurunen).Posio is a small and warm community in Finnish Lapland. Posio is known for its diverse nature, authentic Lapland culture and art and design. Nearest airports are in Kuusamo (60 km) and in Rovaniemi (130 km). Finnair flies to both airports daily during the winter season. The price of the workshop includes transportations to and from the airport to Posio. We will stay at Wilderness Hotel Kirikeskus where you can sleep a good night’s sleep and feel energized during our daytime trips. Kirikeskus has also a fine dining restaurant where you can enjoy hand-picked local northern flavors. There is also nothing better than relax in the warmth of traditional Finnish sauna after a day outside.Posio and Wilderness Hotel Kirikeskus have been awarded Green Key and Sustainable Travel certificates. Green and sustainable values are one of the key values that we have. As concrete actions these include efficient recycling, favoring local products, services, and workers, and respecting and preserving our magnificent nature. It is important to us that the workshop will respect the nature, animals, and the environment, and we can guarantee it personally. For example, the reindeer village, that we will visit, meets our criteria of good animal husbandry.Schedule:Day 1: Be prepared!Transportation from the airport (Rovaniemi/Kuusamo) to Wilderness hotel Kirikeskus in Posio.
